Download Full Materialities of Passing in PDF by Peter Bjerregaard Full eBook and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-03-17 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘Passing’ is a common euphemism for the death of a person, as he or she is said to ‘pass away’ or ‘pass on’. This open-ended saying has at its heart a notion of transformation from one state to another, which in turn grants the possibility of grasping or approximating the passage of time and the materiality of death and decay. This book begins with the idea that since all material things - whether animals, human beings, objects or buildings - undergo some form of passing, then the specific transformation in these passages and the materiality actively given to it can offer us a grasp of otherwise precarious temporalities. It examines how human beings strive to relate to the temporal dimension of death and decay, by giving new shape and direction to being and by examining its natural transformations. Focusing on the materiality of passing, and thereby the relationship between embodiment, temporality and death, Materialities of Passing offers rich case studies from Europe, Papua New Guinea, South Africa and the Russian Far East for exploring the material, spatial and directional aspects of the very interface between life and death. As such, it will appeal to scholars of anthropology, death studies, archaeology, philosophy and cultural studies.

Remember how certain individuals were discriminated against by upper ship officers, who let this continue for years, without understanding. Feel the disgust as the injustice exacerbated as the number of personnel increased. Probe the incompetent union reps who pretended indifference and compounded the problems. Who am I? The first Black employee to be Chief Engineer, who was assaulted by a pro boxer, who the company never charged. The Racial Discrimination are documented inside the pages of this book. The details of abuse, oppression, and distress endured while working the ships as they sailed thru the waters of BC. As Bligh made Christian forever relevant with the Bounty and Bligh's mistreatment of his crew, so too has this company made my name relevant with the Ferries, where I continued to suffer without an advocate to my claims for retribution... and thereby I became, from January 1969 until June 2004, the "BLACK mark on their Lily White Sides"

Download Full Chaucer and the Making of English Poetry, Volume 2 in PDF by P. M. Kean Full eBook and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-09-23 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in 1972. This important work of Chaucerian scholarship deals with two aspects of the poet and his work - his individual achievement and his place in history - and demonstrates that in both these senses Chaucer is a maker of English poetry. The author explores Chaucer’s narrative art. The book includes an examination of the puzzling question of narrative structure in the Canterbury Tales and of the nature of Chaucerian comedy in these works. The author surveys the major themes of the poems: Fortune and free will, marriage, and the nobleness of man. In the final chapter she treats of the meaning of Chaucer’s art for his successors. Throughout the work, Miss Kean deals extensively with the sources which Chaucer used for the writing of his poems, in a way which directs light on the more difficult aspects of his art.
Download Full Lady Sedna’s Ascension Handbook in PDF by Lady Sedna; Sophia Ovidne Full eBook and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-01-02 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are becoming a new species of human being. Our consciousness and the cells of our physical bodies are being transformed by light and love. We are beginning to experience living in a new dimension but here on Earth, right now. This transformation to a new way of being is known as ascension. Lady Sedna is one of the most senior elders among the Ascended Masters, training and guiding apprentices along the Ascension Path until they are fully operational as a being of love, wisdom, and power, and utilizing their mastery for the benefit of this planet and her people. In over one hundred messages she has channeled through Sophia Ovidne, Lady Sedna has brought together a kind of user manual for ascension. It contains the criteria for reaching ascension, and also for maintaining this position, for the challenges from our everyday world are always knocking at our door and threatening to unseat us from our thrones. However, this is not an instruction manual with detailed steps for Enlightenment. Each pilgrim’s journey is too unique and customized for that. But in her messages, Lady Sedna finds a way to provide answers to everyone who searches for one. Her insight, compassion, understanding, and straightforwardness, make her an ideal mentor as we struggle to embrace and to figure out what is happening to us as we are transformed from base metal into gold. There are few people on Earth who yet have this knowledge and experience to be able to share it with us and assist us. This handbook is a gift from heaven, a map when we are lost and confused, a balm when we are frustrated and hurting, and an inspiration when we are stuck in the lower levels and need reminding how to fly.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book makes a case for infrapolitics as an enactment of intellectual responsibility in the face of a tumultuous world of war and of technological value extraction on a planetary scale. Infrapolitical Passages proposes to clear a way through some of the dominant political determinations and violent symptoms of contemporary globalization. In doing so, Gareth Williams makes a case for infrapolitics as an enactment of intellectual responsibility in the face of a tumultuous world of war and of technological value extraction on a planetary scale. The book offers a theory of globalization as a gigantic, directionless crisis in humanity’s symbolic organization, as well as a theory of global economic warfare as the very positing of directionlessness and, at the same time, facticity. Williams’s infrapolitics stands at a distance from the biopolitical, which it understands as domination presenting itself as the production of specific forms of subjectivity in the face of the commodity. The subsequent obscuring of being signals the need to circumvent the instrumentalization of life as subordination to the metaphysics of subjectivity, representation, and politics. Infrapolitical Passages works to confront that which is unavailable in subjectivity and representation, opening a way for facticity in the age of globalization in order to make room for the infrapolitical question for existence.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Reformed Two-Kingdom project has generated a great deal of literature. However, this literature is often characterized by inflamed rhetoric. Further, though it is standard fare to assume that Kline was the architect of the project, in reality, there has been very little scholarly examination of this point. In response, Kline's system is analyzed through the means of a dialectical discourse with three differing models within the Reformed tradition--the Theonomist, Perspectivalist, and Dooyeweerdian schools. Through this means, the study keeps away from surface-level polemics and instead directs readers to the critically important substructural level of current discussions. While clarifying some of the key differences between Kline and his interlocutors, often-overlooked points of nuance are also highlighted. These points are shown to be important in that they present the potential to lessen frustration and impasse in the ongoing dialogue.
